She was not big, but the cherry was broken!
I was set up for flats, but had a little cutbait which the little cats ate like candy!

She took a lollypop of sucker and tulibee. It was funny, I had two rods out, and the clicker set. No circle hooks, and they would peck the bait as channels often do. I got sick of feeding them, and picking up the rod to find out nothing was there. So I held one freshly baited rod, and at the first peck, slammed it home using my walleye jigging instincts! I would loved to have seen this hookset from underwater! The fish would have to had absolutely disappeared from view! Too funny! Nothing going on the flats for me unfortunatley.

Hey Tuck – What was the Pool 3 water temp? I cannot find them yet on the St Croix but we only have 45 degree water temps. I am blaming that for the lack of a channel bite. I am curious what Pool 3 has been. I may have to head for Prescott this week. I bought my Prescott Season Launch Pass so it may be time to use it.

Was on Pool 4 Saturday. The water was around 48 degrees. It was slow fishing. We only caught a couple channels but a lot a blue bass. With this weather, the water’s probably even colder than it was Saturday. Might have to dig out the old portable shack again.

Tim? I told you that you shouldn’t be taking mind altering drugs while catfishing!

    I haven’t run a google yet…but what’s a “blue bass”?

    Educate the uneducated

Way to go Chris…with the water temps…it’s back to the wintering holes!

Sometimes I call sheepies “blue bass” when I’m on drugs. That Copenhagen sure messes with your mind.

48.9 to be exact. I got into some off channel spots, but the temp was the same. This coming weekend temps will get back into the 70’s! Come on sun!
Brian, I was about 1/4 mile south of where we were. Opposite side of the River. It has some pretty darn good Flatty posibilities. My suckers are still alive! Good bait in Prescott! Cold weather helps too!

With the water temps that cool I think your wasting your time on Flatz. I wouldn’t even strt to think about flatz untill the temp hits 60

BK, next time out, remind me to tell you some of my old Camp Ripley stories about the old Canteen across the Hiway!
I’ll tell you of when I got busted for “Felonious Fishing!” on post. Darn impact areas! That sucked! Fishing was fantastic though!
