Cut bait can be just about anything. What I use most often is chunks of big sucker minnows. Depending upon the size, I’ll just cut them in half, or if they’re bigger, basically steak them into inch or two long hunks. Some people will actually fillet them and use that chunk, but I haven’t tried it. I’ve also used tullibee. Basically, I think the rule is the oilier the fish, the better.
