Received a call the other day from Chomancharo15, Steve. He was ready to find some live bait…mainly bullheads.

I told my wife I wouldn’t be home for dinner…and the next thing I know..they invited themselve along. I thought this was a good thing because I could bring home more bait since we all had fishing licenses. 288 bullheads each…864 for the three of us…should do it

We met up with Steve and headed to his secret bully hole.

Our first couple attempts at seining produce crappie minnows a few fatheads and one shiner. We came to the conclusion that we weren’t walking fast enough and the bullheads were swimming ahead of the seine. We adapted and the following picture shows a typical run.

With the aid of my daughter we had enough bait to test out our bait tanks and give use something to fish with. Steve went home with about 50 and I with around 100. After placing 100 bullheads in the bait tank…I realize that 864 is a heck of a lot of bullheads!

    Some photo’s to follow…

Dark..any real cajun knows that you don’t “cook” fresh crawdads…you bite off the tail and suck out the morsel. But I am going to download your smily with the chicken…might come in handy…for lutwaurst.

But I think they are out of season??

I was kind of thinking the same thing – “gee, new photos to work with”
