Equipment question

Hello all,
Just wondering if my Bass 7′ Flippin Stick and Baitcaster spooled with 30# Power Pro are enough to tame those “kittys”? I’m kinda leery of using stink bait – any opinions pro or con? How bad does that stuff smell and does it get in your clothes? I don’t want to sleep in the garage!

They’re hammering the cats down here pretty hard on shad guts right now.

I think your rig will be fine for channels.

Thanks guys! Herb how do you put those guts on a hook? Seems to me that when you would try to cast – the guts would go one way and the hook would go the other way?
Maybe you can shed some light on this…

Shad guts are from the gizzard shad. The gizzard or gut, is like a bird gizzard. Run the point of the hook into the gizzard and wrap the yummy stringy stomach parts around the hook and finally run the point of the hook into this yummy stringy stuff. I’ve never had a problem with it falling off.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm! Yummy string stuff!
