spawn?

Where do the diferent species spawn anyway. The Flats that I kept lately all had eggs, I’m sure that the ones I let go were female as well.

Both species spawn in the same areas.They look for cover where they can defend their young.Hollow logs,knarly snags and even weed cover.If these are not available the males will burrow into the bank making their own nest.The male gaurds the nest untill the fry hatch and leave the nest.Flatheads spawn at 75 to 80 degrees and channels at 72 to 75 so ther is no competion for spawning sites

the flatheads have started to spawn now. the ones I have been catching have signs of it
