Now that I have my Jon boat and motor, I can get around a little more and increase my opportunities. I have not yet been able to get into the cats. Friday night I camped on an Island fishing till 2 AM in an eddi behind a wingdam off of the main channel. Not a bite. Had live sucker on one, cut sucker on another and nightcrawler on the third. Is the best plan to try an area for a 1/2 hour, and move or should a person find likely cover and fish it much longer.

With the high, cold water I’d be looking for cats in areas with slower and warmer water, i.e. backwaters, feeder rivers and such. And definately keep moving. 20 minutes at a spot when you dont know the area or are searching for cats is plenty of time. The more you move, the more areas you’ll learn. With the water warming and dropping you should sart seeing more cats in the main river and up by the dam shortly???
