    Brian;

    Lake Rebecca in Hastings was stocked a few years ago with channel cats. They are in there. There is also a bunch of guys fishing it this past weekend. I would assume they are sunnie or crappie fishing.

    It you want action and not toooooo concerned about size (plus I wouldn’t eat anything out of that sewer pond), I would give it a try!!!

    nope.

    I think when it flooded real hard back in the late 90s, most of anything/everything left. Prior to, it was really good fishing. But now, it kinda sucks. There are sunnies and crappies in there, but nothing really for size. I think once in awhile, people will do “ok” for eaters, but they are 6 inch sunnies and 8 inch crappies.

    I took my daughter down there this past summer to see what was going on. We caught 2 sunnies, 2 cats, a 2 turtles………I don’t like to catch turtles, because it tends to harm them when they get that hook deep in the mouth, so we left. The sunnies and cats were little.

    There used to be some great ski action on Rebecca. Im not sure what year it was 97-98? they thought is was a good idea to kill the lake and try to get rid of the milfoil but like you were saying Gary ” it floods ” every year just about.And there is still a ton of milfoil??? It broke my heart when I heard they were killing the lake.Me my dad and one of his good freinds use to go down there every year a dozen time or so.Biggest ski they cought was 55″ and there were others but not close to that one.Also some big bass but havnt seen them in a while either We even cought a 15-20 lb flat on about a 10 inch chub under a bobber.
    Brian I would look at the Horseshoe chain for icing channels.We used to fish the area alot when my buddys were going to school up there and we heard a lot of talk about channels being cought and lots of them.

    Hey Jet Cat! Did you say you would trade in your jetboat for a helicopter. Here is one you can store in your garage. It is a kit helicopter, runs about $20,000, and even comes with floats. You hook a big flathead and you just pick up to a hover and pull him right out of that brushpile. This is the ticket for those hard to reach spots.
