Went out with Ben and my son and got this pup – let me know how big you think he is….
Water temp was 69 – got it in about 5 feet of wood infested water adjacent to the main channel.

pretty hard to quess without a length measurement. 42 inches would be very close to 36 pounds. a couple of inches longer and it would exceed a 40 pounder. that’s my quess. BEAUTY !!! Jack..
I’m not really much of cat man, but will throw a weight out there just for the hell of it.
Make my guess 40lbs.
Nice catch no matter what it weighs!
JWB
looks to be about a 30 pounder, maybe a bit smaller. nice catch.
Matt..I’m thinking very close to 200 lbs with the slime on your pants…OH! You meant the flat!
Her belly isn’t sticking out the sides, so you have to subtract a littl for that…but the tail section is pretty thick…so you have to add a little….
My guess would be 29. Unless she has a couple of those Mill Lacs Bass in her that James and Blue were into…then 37.
Might not be the place to post this…but. When Commenchero and I were fishing together…I pulled in a honest 29. His fish that came later was 27. I would have bet my favorite “whoa” rod that his was going to be in the low 30’s. It seemed longer (it was) and fatter (not sure…just going by memory when we boated it) than mine. I’m starting to think that the differance is in the belly so to speak….as in what they’ve just eaten. If you think about it, when a cat puts on the feed bag, do they stop eating after swollowing a 1 lbs sucker?
I’ve “heard” a flat will eat 1/3 their weight each night…for a 30 lbs fish (following that rule and assuming she’s finished eating that night) that would be 10 lbs more.
So, in Steve’s case, my fish at 29 could have been smaller…but heavier.
Disclaimer….I know nothing about catfish…except your picture is a beeeuuuuuuutttt!
Ps…in looking back at the picture…because you don’t have a **** eating smile…I know it’s not your personal best…so it’s not in the 40’s and you aren’t gritting your teeth to hold’er there….AND one whisker is shorter than the other…..back to my answer of 29.
It’s probably those really big bullys you use What are they 12 inches
FHW…to keep the guesses going and to relieve us that are hanging by our mouses…can you PM us on the weight?
Well I am not much of a “catman” either, but I’d guess low 30’s…officially 31 pounds.
I have only seen a couple fish that big in person so I am going to go with 36.75. Nice looking fish!!!
Hard to tell the way are holding it close to the camera, but I would say heavier than the other posts. I will go with 42 pounds. Lucky &%^&$%

When do we get the answer on that bad cat.
Well, pretty soon. First another hint – this is the same cat:
How do you keep a catman in suspense?….Don’t tell him.
Ok, an honest guess of the second picture would be…..maybe 20. That’s a 9 pound differance from my first guess. ….So did you gain a little weight…or did the fish get smaller?
Definitely goes to show you how much difference a good picture makes.
32#?
Great job on the catch
Looks like that could be the same beauty my friend rick caught a couple weeks ago.
It’s a good thing these kittys aren’t nearly as slimy as those green carp (wallnuts) or they would be hard to hold for pic’s
Cattin_Addict
gloves?….we dont need no stinkin gloves!!!
I’m going to guess 24 lbs.
I pulled a 44″ off a wingdam on Sunday (a new personal best). I forgot the camera so I guess it’s just a fish story. I’m still dissappointed in myself for leaving the camera at home. I’m going to get a disposable and just leave it in the boat.
Boone
It was 28.5 pounds. My nephew Ben took the pics – obviously he’s getting good at that, too. You guys were pretty good, too – I knew there would be a lot of overestimates, of course, but I didn’t expect BrianK to practically nail it right off! Good job.
Matt
Sometimes a blind squirral finds a nut too..
But back to my point. Even with measurements it’s hard to be close because of the size of the fish and the amount they eat. Kinda like taking the weight of an elephant…..before or after they eat…It’s going to change dramaticly…but the leaght and girth stays the same.
Total luck
