    More on the Cat Results……

There was some major confusion at the weigh in for the cat tourney. But I believe we “Got ‘er Done”!

Several cats were actually brought to the scales at the 3pm weigh in. Of course, these weights were tossed out when it was discovered that the cats were caught during the day. A couple of the “Scores” were recorded incorrectly by me.

After the winners for the Flat and Channel category were awarded, it was brought to my attention that the entry for the flathead was actually caught during the day. That contestant was not aware of the fishing times for the cats and gave up the first place standing and St Croix Rod. Now, in an attempt to award the rod to the rightful winner, it was given to the person listed as the second best score. Well, that was a channel listed as a Flat…. So, another snafu that had to get undone…..

So, now a day later I believe we got it corrected. The Flathead category rightfully goes to Comenchero15 for his entry. Sorry for all the screwing around there Comenchero, but congrats are in order!

Congrats to Chris Simmons for his Channel entry that was never contested. Please don’t tell me it was caught during the day LOL……

Now, the question was asked several times as to why the 7pm to 7am hours were set. This goes back to the first year we had the Catfish Category. It was set up by the cat guys like that so us walleye or bass guys did not “Accidentally” catch and win the catfish tourney!

I’d like to see some changes for next year’s event and need you guys to come up with a format that would work for you and be easy on me! Any ideas? Just send them to me or post them here.

    Thanks, Congratulations and Apologizes.

My Channel cat was definitely caught on friday night. It was a challenge to get my dad away from that keg of beer to go spend the night in the cold wet boat. There were plenty of witnesses that saw him crying as we left the dock.
Thanks again to Gator Hunter for putting us on the fish.

Hey Jon – thanks for putting together the cat tourney and putting up with us guys. You don’t need to apologize for anything. We all had a great time and I wouldn’t change anything. The rules are pretty clean and simple and it makes for a good contest. Next year a few of us cat guys will help out a little bit at the weigh-in. We should be able to really help confuse everything. It was fun to meet everybody at the gettogether – I had a real good time.

I’m the guilty one but maybe next year one of the real ‘cat’ men could take me out and show me the ropes. Evidently trolling a Bomber over the rocks at noon isn’t the only way to catch a cat.

    Jon,

The only thing I could ask is to tell us in April when to meet. That would give some of us more time to plan for this. It might give some of us an excuse to come stay at Everetts for a few days. I would not be opposed to having the tourney run from Sun down on Friday to 3 on Saturday.
