I might be taking a trip down to Missouri in May so I need to know any good places to fish, preferably on the Missouri river, 30 miles west of St. Louis in the Washington area. Also what can I expect to catch? I hear there are some nice blue cats and paddlefish down there, I’m interested in any type of catfish, plus the other species you can catch while catfishing (buffalo, sturgeon, eels, gar, etc.) Also how much would an out of state license cost? Thanks a lot for any info you might have.

I fish the Missouri river in Nebraska. There are some very nice cats in there. I’m not real familiar with the area in Missouri, but I imagine it is similar. Try and find some wing dams if you can. They consistently produce big cats on the Missouri. If the river is channelized down in Missouri like it is in Nebraska, then wingdams are about your only bet as far as a good spot goes. Good luck.
