    Jason,

I suppose that is possible. For me it would be more fun to fish with one of these accomplished catmen. I am but a mere amature next to Mudcat, down & dirty, comancharo et al. I think Dirk has a pond in his backyard and keeps sending us pictures of the same fish over and over. I know I’ve seen the one with the sore on its head before.

Man you catfish guys are cocky. I should fit right in with you, of course I’d have to stop bathing about a week before the event. Maybe I could talk Lenny into taking me out, I’ll even bring the right brand of beer.

A week? I can’t be wasting time bathing each and every week, there’s fishing to be done!

Jon – If I understand the rules correctly, I can fish the St Croix starting at sundown on July 30th and fish until sunup on July 31st. Go home and download the picture of my world record flat with all it’s curvascious measurements onto the IDA catfish forum, take a nap from 6:00 am to 01:00 pm, wake up and drive to Everts Resort and pick up my new catfish rod at 3:00pm. I’m IN!!

All the rest of you guys from way over in Cheesehead land can save yourself the trip to Everts, no need to post pictures of your flathead mini-me’s either .

All I need is some of our MN teenie-tiny Minnesota bullheads?
By the way what is the current record IDA Get-Together catfish entry?

So basically I can wait until I see that my cat is huge by comparison to all the oversized bullhead entries by looking online here before I decide to make the long trip north? I suppose there’s always the chance that someone won’t post ahead of time, and of course I should go anyway just to be able to hang with some catmen for awhile – especially the kind that don’t fish my particular pool that I can really talk to, hehe.

No, that ploy won’t work cuz if I make it I won’t have access to the internet…I will bring a laptop to display the winning fish pictures to all who are interested at the resort!!!

The pictures are not a requirement,(That’s where the Gentelmens Honor part kicks in) but strongly suggested. Even if you use a polorid or regular film, I can help you get the image loaded at some point to back up your claims.

Jason has a laptop. That explains all the big cat pics. Photo editor can do some amazing things. I think the picture would need to include a copy of that day’s newspaper. and you guys never told me that Dirk is only 3 feet tall.

Hey I think I am going to do my best to make it for the get together.I have never turned down an opportunity to drink some beer!
All you cat guys who are competing still have a chance.I have a guide trip for that friday,so all the fish boated during the tourney hours will be caught by my clients.Don’t you feel lucky. UNLESS…. I drag one of them along!
Now all I have to do is find a new hat!

No worries there about the hat… a person to remain nameless has already arranged to have one delivered to your door well in advance of the GTG.

I’m not sure it’ll work that way, unless I bring along the disk so you can download the driver for MY camera… Then we can sure use your laptop to display, although I may be bringing printed copies…

Touche’, Matt….The Flathead prize could be interesting, but you may want to take Tim S. up on some advice for channels…cuz I got that one dialed in:)

Truth is, I rarely catch channels after sunset – except the ones that take my bluegills, and then only rarely. ‘Course I never try for them, either.

BTW – so you’re a ProCats browser, too, eh? Good site – I just wish they’d be a little freer with the information – they’ve gotten all elusive since they went to the subscription e-magazine format. I like to debate with TS, though – he’s very knowledgeable – we usually get some good discussions going on the Catfish Message Board chat on the rare occasions when we’re both there. I like it when people actually explore their strategy and thought process about finding and catching the bigguns…

If you can swing the $30 the E-Mag is full of the kind of info a guy like you craves. There are several flathead articles written by some cool guys who know what they are talking about.

Plus you get a year’s subscription to NAF, which has some additional flathead articles in it.

    Matt,
I’m actually a staff member…I wrote the “free” article on the homepage “let’s get real” and some others. Tim and I actually were fishing the Hennepin canal down in Il. this weekend, and yes he can be fun to debate with. I don’t really care too much for the CMB, too much goofiness not pertaining to intelligent catfishing, but it’s good for a chuckle or two now and again.

I’ll be swinging the $30 soon, but I’ve been broke all summer and it’s been bugging me that exactly what I want is just out of reach!

Jason, you’re in with a good group – what a great experience and probably mind expanding as a catter. Are you going to their thing in late August?

I could sure use some bullies for this tournie. I just cannot seem to find any numbers of them around here. I could fish for the bullies all day and only get a few.
If anybody has any spots to get some near here or if any one is launching near Evert’s that evening and wouldn’t mind bringing a few extra down I would greatly appreciate it.

Gator – I may be able to help you out if you’re willing to swing by my place and pick them up. Send me a PM and we’ll work it out.
