Out on the big river Sat. night, met Dirk, and caught some Flatheads. Hi to all and tight lines. Nice forum here.
Jason.
Welcome to the board Mr JetCat!
I hope to see more of your flat pictures soon…since I’m all out of Dirk’s fairy dust… I can’t buy a flathead!
Were you fishing P 3 or 4?
Thanks for the welcome Briank! As far as what pool I fish I think you should ask Dirk:) I am seeing a lot of new faces in some of the spots I’ve been fishing for a long time, If they are all as cool as Dirk then we’re safe for a while. By the way in my boat we let the girls play too!
Jason.
OK, let me ask you this then…do you have a trouble light hang from the side of your boat when fishing…kind of a yellow tint to it?
Just nosy…I’m going to find a state record flathead in the Afton area…even if I have to dive for it!
It’s nice that you don’t descriminate against ladies.
No, I don’t hang a trouble light over the side…when you hear/see me coming you’ll remember:) We only discriminate against Vikings fans!
Jason.
Yeah, not too bad. Next time we’ll use my camera. Thanks Rich, for showing me this forum.
Jason.
Welcome to the site JetCat and nice fish…it won’t be long now and we’ll be hearing about the great year the Vikes are going to have, which is faithfully followed by whining and tears about mid season…..

First you post 3 pics of cat’s to a guy that can’t buy one, then you cut us off at the braids…I see you show no mercy!
Sorry about that, it’s not the fans I don’t like…it’s playing in the Metrodome!

Jason this quote must mean you have a River Pro or you have a yellow and Green john boat filled with cheese? I couldn’t quite make it out in the picture.
Nice boat river cat. How long is that SeaArk. I am sponsored by SeaArk. We are their first Team SeaArk boat. We have the 20 foot model with a 175 hp. Evinrude. We are headed to the mississippi river in August for the big Cabela’s King Kat Classic.
Those are some nice pics you had there. Did you catch them all in one evening? Way to go keep up the big fish and keep letting us know how you are doing.
Thanks Jeremy! Yeah those were all one night. My boat is an 1872, sometimes I wish I had a 2072 like you…boats always shrink at night! Is yours a jet? SeaArks rule they are built like absolute tanks, and my boat is rated to haul 2075 lbs! (that’s a lot of bullheads) Congratulations on your sponsorship and good luck in the tournaments.
Jason.
No i don’t have a jet motor I wished I did sometimes. I have owned and tried many boats to catfish out of and I have yet to find anything better then my SeaArk. I have put it through some rough stuff and it always seems to survive. I guess that’s why the Military uses SeaArk to build their boat too.
jetcat…………….that boat made me wet my pants when i heard you coming up on us sat evening.
oh, and nice fish!
oh, one ohter thing Jetcat!?…… do you got “pods” on the back of yr boat? if so, do they make a difference? I might get some for my 14ft flat cuz i need more float with the GoDevil on it.
Yeah, the boat can be pretty loud. but it’s like a big four wheel drive for the water. Those are transom pods…you’re right, and yes they help with level flotation if you have a heavy motor. They also give me a place to stand while clearing weeds from my intake (jet kryptonite) Did you guys do any good?
Jason.
Hey guys What are pods? I have never heard of anything like that from were I am from. I have a heavy (175 hp evinrude) on the back of my boat. My back end sets really low in the water do to the weight. Will pods help that out. Do they heart the speed of the boat any? Were can a person get these pods like you are talking about?
If you look closely at the back of my boat you’ll see stepped rectangular extensions jutting off the bottom, these are extra flotation. They are raised up about a half inch off the bottom so when you’re up on plane they don’t contact the water, i.e. slow you down. Your local SeaArk dealer can order them for you, and if they can weld aluminum can tack them on for you. My boat was optioned with them…so they we’re welded on at the factory. Yes, your 175 ficht will weigh about 50 lbs. more than mine due to the heavier flywheel and related injection components, and they will help you.
Jason.
Jason,
Thanks for the information. I am going to check it out. I think it would really help me out from the way you guys are talking. I will call SeaArk first and see what they have to say about them. I have a local dealer here in town where I could got some. Thanks again Jason for the helpfull info.
