Well, the channel cats are going crazy in the backwaters and the main channel. Got out yesterday afternoon with my budddy Bob and did very well. Fresh cut sucker, limber rods and circle hooks = fun time!! We fished snag/wood areas exclusively and moved within 15 minutes, hunting for the active biters. Here are some picks.

What a bad time to go to Winni

Mighty fine fish…I’m back to work on Friday…but I may have to call in sick….

Dirk, with cut bait an no roll sinkers, does it make a differance in the weight of sinker you use? I’m thinking that it has to be heavy enough to stay put….but it wouldn’t matter if it was a 3 or a 5 oz weight…is there a hole in that thought?

I use 1 1/2 oz. sinkers with cut bait the most….but I’m rarily fishing water over 15 ft deep. 3 oz is overkill unless, of course, you need it to keep your bait in place. You may need them on your Selkirk trip?????
