With the water temp hanging around 50, I wanted to work this wing dam on the St Croix. Because it’s more of a lake than a river, there’s not much currant. If you were looking for a flathead, where would you place your bait during the day and would it be differant at night?

i am no expert……….but i would go at “D” in the mid day……. cuz logically, there should be some slack current, plus it the tip of the windam and alot of baitfish and debris can pass by for food.

i would almost go for the same spot at night…….maybe futher towards the current edge or near the top. possible “C”

but then again……. i am not very bright….LOL

    just my opinion…..

    Brian,

fish the deepest water during the day and move just a few feet each time. Sit no longer than 15 minutes in each spot. At night, look for the obvious place the cats can herd the baitfish into a a corner. Sit there until bitten.
