Hey guys – Here is tip #2 for finding bullheads. If you have a particular lake that you wonder if bullheads are present you can find out quite easily. Go the Minnesota DNR Lake Finder page: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/index.html From the page enter the name of your lake and if you have it, the county it is in. Presto (aren’t computers great ) – if your lake has been surveyed you will have information on fish present. Page down on the survey to see if bullheads are present. For a good bullhead lake I recommend they be the predominate species to make it worth you effort.

You guys really owe me now. You learn more here by accident, huh!!

I’m pulling the boat out of storage today. See you on the water. Good Luck

Hey guys, here’s a freebie for those of us in the north metro. Long lake has a fishing pier where you can get a bullhead with just about every cast, and there are usually kids there that you can convince to give you bullheads. Long Lake is in New Brighton, conveniently located about 50 feet from 694. Just hop off the Long Lake Road exit and follow the directions for the boat launch. Then it is no more than a 3 minute drive to boat launches on the mississippi. Buy me a bucket of beer now.
