It has been a few years since I fished for cats over there but hat I call the “Library Pond” seemed to produce more and bigger catfish than the other bodies of water… especially in the fall. Several years in a row I caught my biggest cat of the year within a week of ice up on that Library Pond. I have caught some above and below the Ramsey Mill Pond dam and several in the exact spot Justin mentioned and in a few deep holes of the Cedar River in and near town as incidentals while northern fishing.
Most of the cats I caught over there came after dark on a cut cheek chub compliments of Dobbins Creek east of town. Size was always good in Austin, numbers were better on Fountain Lake at Albert Lea.
