Catching a drum…help?

So I was fishing pool 5 this weekend for flatheads with a buddy and his kid, couldn’t keep the sunfish off when trying to catch sheep for bait. Can only use them on WI side so we needed some mn bait too.

After struggling…
I approached a boat in a likely sheepshead spot and humbly Said “hey, were trying to catch some sheepshead, can you help”

Was given specific instruction promptly on where and how.
We caught a few but more importantly that gentleman started to catch a few for us too as my trolling motor broke and left us short handed.

You can always ask someone on the water for help catching sheep… they’ll help more times than not! Lol … and you have to love the puzzled look on someone’s face when you tell them your trying to catch sheepshead haha

They will bite anything. I have even caught one on a buzz bait. I catch most on jig and plastic, also a lot on cranks. My biggest was a 34″ on a jig and plastic using ultralight. Jig and crawler piece fished near a current break should get you in business.
