    What’s good fellas…
I’d like to say thanks for the advice from #Bearcat89 and #luckydave, a couple fellow fisherman and members of in-depth outdoors, for their advice on this topic.
The first couple beers are on me!
I’m new to the site, that’s obvious but definitely not new to fishing.
I’m seriously looking to fulfill a life long dream of catching some big Cat Fish and sturgeons…
I’ve fished nearly every main river and most main lakes here in MN, but never had the chance to go big Cat fishing here in MN.
I’m looking to try the Croix, specifically if not the Minnesota.
South of Taylor’s Falls, I don’t have access atm to a boat, so shore fishing will have to do unless I can arrange otherwise.
I specifically need advice on where fishing from shore is ideal, where it’s accessible for me to park and hike in or whatever to a good spot where it’s worth it.
Having a boat changes everything, and more importantly the experience first hand on where to fish are priceless.
I could use some real help.
I’d be happy to open a conversation with the right individuals or individual openly or privately and throw you some coins to help on your next trip for helping…
    No joke.
If there was a possibility to get an extra seat on a boat and do some real fishing I’ll pay for everything.
    No joke.
So big Cats, sturgeon, big Walleye, St Croix river…
    Any suggestions bros?

Is it Lifelong dream to find the handout to catch one? You can hire guide and accomplish this quickly. There’s a wealth of info on this site to help you with what you seek. I suggest start reading the catfish sturgeon threads and you’ll be off to a great start. Come back with questions. Nobody wants to hand out spots to a stranger except the guides who you pay for said info… now that I’ve said that someone will get offended and give up GPS coords to an EPIC spot so hang on tight for a PM.

Have you looked into hiring a guide? You can also try making a post saying you are looking for an open seat in the title. One learns so much more getting in the boat with someone over reading about it. Or at least I do. Good luck. I hope you get a big one.

There was a shore fishing thread recently that should help you out. Otherwise FBRM, DTro and BK have a wealth of knowledge, well maybe not BK chased jester , posted in old threads of IDO. If you do enough searching and reading on here, you should find your answers. Or trial and error is a good starting place too.

You don’t need much of a boat to fish between Marine on St. Croix and Taylors falls. Canoe is all you need and there are plenty of rental places up that way.

I know a guy who takes people out to “show them the ropes”. He charges a modest service fee for his time, knowledge, and fuel. Rumor has it, he doesn’t accept tips either.
Unfortunately he won’t be able to help you this year since his calendar is full, but 2024 is wide open )

Yooo, send me a PM, I love fishing the Croix for everything that swims in it… especially catfish and sturgeon.
