Fished on Buckhorn for about two hours today. Trolled mostly in 4 to 10 feet of water with shallow shad raps. Caught ten white bass up to forteen inches. The white bass population exploded back in 2005 I believe it was and they are pretty nice sized right now. People have been taking them by the cooler full the last 3 to 4 years but I think their is still a ton of that year class still left. Sorry no pictures.

By chance do you know what cause the population to explode back in 2005? I’m always curious of such things.

Thanks in advance for any info you might have for me.

I don’t have any info on why it happened in 2005 and I often wonder myself. Their doesn’t seem to be any other major year classes right now besides that one.

Thanks anyway. Some times a guy never does figure out why fish spawn so successfully one year and not the next. As long as it happens once in awhile I guess it really doesn’t matter.

ya, like what happened during the GTG??? I know it was a tough bite down there, but haven’t heard a peep, not even from catman BK!!!

Bret, I know Dodgie was on the Rock last weekend and even he and his father worked hard for two or three fish. No whities…

Sounds like the white bass fishing is even slow out there this year. I’ve only been on Castle Rock once this winter but hopefully things pick up real soon.

Might have to get the winter boat over to the 21 dam, and try some open water.

I’ll keep an eye on the ramps z-man. I got the itch in a big way.

Sounds good. Being that my team will not be in the Super Bowl, might consider heading over there Sunday and shed some tears while putting eyes int he boat.

I’m pretty sure you’ll have the whole dam area to yourself. Should be a million eyes that are fifteen inches this year.
