Here it is – Minnesota Senate File 1303.Go to Line 3.20 to 4.33 and then farther down go to Line 15.5 to 15.23

Here is the agenda for today’s meeting of the MN Senate Environment and Energy Committee.

    Wednesday, March 4, 2015 – 4:00 PM

Environment and Energy – Subcommittee on Fish and Wildlife
    Chair: Sen. Matt Schmit
    4 p.m.
    Room 107 Capitol

    Agenda:
S.F. 281-Bakk: Deer License modification allowing residents age 84 or to take deer of either sex.

S.F. 1020-Bakk: Antlerless deer taking without permit for veterans home residents.

S.F. 1033-Benson: Firearms and ammunition possession in deer zones violation penalty imposition.

S.F. 365-Kiffmeyer: Firearms safety certificate requirement veterans exception.

S.F. 722-Ingebrigtsen: Muzzleloading firearms with scopes for elderly persons authorization.

S.F. 1075-Saxhaug: Hunting and fishing licenses applications anatomical gifts public information and education donation provision requirement.

    S.F. 252-Anderson, B.: Fishing without a license age modification.

S.F. 1303-Schmit: DNR Agency Bill overview (continued from March 2 meeting).

    For your info –

S.F. 252 proposes to change the age from 90 to 70 for fishing without a license. I’ll be 68 this year – in a couple of years I’ll be able to fish without a license while throwing my cast net for shad. God bless America!

S.F. 1303 includes the cast net proposal. Keep your fingers crossed for the next month or so as this makes it’s way through the committee process in both the House and Senate and hopefully arrives intact on the Governor’s desk and he signs it. This is not a done deal and we have a ways to go yet but at least it is on its way.

    Journey Begin?

I would like to ask your wife how many hours you have invested in allowing the use of cast nets. I know it’s more then you would ever admit too.

No matter what happens, it’s in the G&F bill and my hats off to You, Darrin (Dtro), Jack Lauer of the DNR and all the others the helped with the testing. It was truly a team effort that included many more people then I’m aware of.

I’m just pleased as punch everyone came together to make this happen.

Now on to the finish line where I’ll meet you all for a beer!

As long as steve can still look at his wife and say “You know i do fish a lot; but not as much as that Andy guy i always see anchored out there”

Thanks for the hard work steve.

It’s a no brainer and better pass. I’ll make a deal. If it passes I’ll post me trying to throw my 8′ cast net for the first time.
