Just returned from a week of fishing on Kitchi & Cass. Group of 5 Stayed on Kitchi and fished most of the week on that lake. Several cold fronts and rain moved through and fishing was tough all week. Caught lots of short fish but managed a limit of walleyes, all between 15-20″ on leeches. The crappies cooperated later in the week and started moving into the weed beds. Was able to catch many but few were of the large “slab” size. Water temps were high 50’s on Cass and low 60’s on Kitchi at arrival. With the cold fronts moving through they didn’t change much until Friday & Saturday. With the warmer and sunny weather in the forecast this week, fishing should really pick up.

Glad to hear you had a good time. Wife and I were just talking last night that we should make a run up to Cass soon for at least a long weekend. We are booked at Birch Villa for two weeks around Labor Day, but that’s still a ways off. Did you Perch fish at all? We usually do pretty well around Cedar and off the sand from Star Island.

We were up at Cass May 23rd to 30th also. We couldn’t find any perch around Cedar or Star Island. We did get some by Bucks Bar but most of them came from Kitchi. There was a bug hatch that week that didn’t help.We did pretty good on Walleyes.

We didn’t perch fish much on Cass too windy most of the week and we needed worked most of the week trying to catch our limit of walleyes.
