Hi I’m going up to winniebigoshish Minnesota for 4 days ice fishing and want to go over and try Cass Lake because it is close and I heard the perch bite is doing a lot better out there then on Winnie right now is there anything hazardous areas to look out for as far as driving on the lake cause I see Cass is a quite a bit deeper then Winnie and I’m sure those deep spots don’t freeze as well I just want to stay safe and avoid any non safe areas any help is greatly appreciated thank you in advance

With the river it does have quite a bit of current and and pressure ridges. I have not been up there this year heading to Winnie myself the second week of February. I would call one of the resorts such as brake on the lake or chad bensons guide service might give you some ice report.
