Lower to mid 30’s this weekend. Anybody care to guess how many people will be on Mille Lacs this weekend? I went through Wahkon & Isle before 1pm today and there were a lot of wheelhouses around at that early afternoon hour.
I spent Wednesday-Friday up there, including a night camping in a hub house. There was an absolutely army of people arriving at 6pm Friday when I left. The lake looked like a sparkling city, which I always think is really cool.
I counted 20+ wheelhouses on Rocky Reef’s road in the 10-15 minutes it took to slowly drive off. Can’t blame them. I would do the same. The season is over in less than a month.
Ya, anybody can come.
