    Here ya go Joe…
1 1/2 cups milk, scalded and cooled,
    1/2 cup butter, softened,
    1/2 cup sugar,
    2 tsp salt,
    2 pks dry yeast,
    1/2 cup warm water,
    3 eggs, beaten,
    6 cups of flour
    1 cup of raisins, devided...

Wait… How the heck did that last ingredient get in there?

You had me right until then.

Nuts can used in place of raisins if one likes. Apple slices can be used too. Any dried fruit could go in as well as fresh berries but if using fresh anything you can stand the chance of having the rolls turn out pasty due to the extra moisture the fruit releases.

We like the raisin, doesn’t mean it is the end of the highway if you don’t use something else or omit nuts or fruit entirely and enjoy the cinnamon rolls.

Tom, you’re in a good place when this many guys give crap about raisins. I tip my cap to ya for going the yeast route altogether. I’m good with a tube cinnamon roll.

My grandmother taught me to make bread when I was about 12 years old and have been making breads of all kinds since. I’m not much on plain white bread and have a molasses wheat that is crazy good and loaded with wheat germ.

WE hve a bred maker for when I am pinched for time but I much prefer making bread the way I was taught. My grandmother was 77 when she showed me the ropes. She made two loaves every other day. She made her last loaf when she was 106 years old and died at 112. I sure miss her yet.

Right now I have a double batch of my favorite cookies baking…will be at it for about 3 hours. pics later.

Add the raisins and call me all in for the nuts!

Seems I’m just all in, “I call”! (texas holdem)
