Somebody educate me on why you’d want to disable the engine resting at stops etc?

My Ford Escape has that. I just don’t care for it. Disabled it after one week. I’m not really sure if it saves a ton on gas or engine use unless you sit in a lot of stop and go traffic or at long traffic lights.

Save on the fly wheel and starter. Your not saving any fuel to make start stop worth while. Just wearing out parts

That’s not a reason to disable, but I see the point about the flywheel and starter.

Ford currently gives you $50 off on a new order if you have the auto start/stop removed from the build sheet. It also gets you your truck quicker due to some of the chip shortages.

Just an FYI the stop start vehicle we found out at least some of them have another small battery on board tucked away, so my point in informing you is you still have power to certain things even if you disconnect the main battery.
