    ALWAYS GET A 2ND OPINION!

Remember 50% of all doctors graduated in the bottom half of their class. whistling

If the MRI shows the damage has been done and really can’t be exacerbated, cortisone can be a great way to get back to some activity and pain relief.

This is where I’m at with my shoulder. Been getting a shot every 4 months for the last 2 years. I have a severely arthritic shoulder likely from an injury a long time ago. They do X rays once a year to make sure I’m not wearing it out to much that it would complicate an inevitable replacement surgery. I’m to the point shots only last about 2 months. I had my last one in April. Planning for replacement surgery in October. I’m working with Dr. Freehill at Summit Ortho who is a highly regarded shoulder specialist in the metro.

I had same issue with hurt shoulder. PT for a year and never got better. FINALLY demanded and got an MRI and learned my labrum was torn and my AC Joint had bursitis and bone spurs. Surprisingly my Rotator Cuff was fine.
Had arthroscopic surgery to clean it up and also deliberately cut my bicep tendon.
BEST thing I ever had done, back to normal in a few months.
PT Is a stop gap that really won’t repair anything that is damaged. Get an MRI to find out
