We have family of fox temporarily taking residence in our neighborhood. Mom, dad & 4 cubs ! Makes having a few suds in the garage just that much better when I can watch them playing around like house muts. The eagles are watching them too.

It is cool. I live on a creek entering the lake. Been watching the otters feed right off my dock for the last hour. Water is coming up big time!

I predict the population of your foxes to be shrinking soon.

sweet…but I don’t think an eagle has the balls to tangle with a fox. sure it happens if the bird is really hungry but the fox wins 9 times out of 10 unless it is caught off guard. we have eagles near our place in southern MN and all the rumors are that dog collars are found in their nests. bunch of BS if you ask me! We have chickens free ranging 250 plus days a year and have yet to see the raptors try at that let alone a fox. We did have a duck get eaten few years ago but I am pretty sure it was by a coon.

I’ve seen the pair of mink along the bank of the creek behind the house a few times now. Its a treat to watch Ma mink bring the kids down to the water and show them how to swim. Some of the little ones take right to it and others may need some coaxing. Wildlife is a fun thing to watch.

We have a pair of grey fox that dine in our backyard every night and have been for the past 4 years. So much fun to watch them. Haven’t seen our pair of mallards around yet.

My brother had his cat eaten by an eagle right before the big snows came. Black cat walking across snow covered plowed field, I guess was to easy to pass up.

I’m no cat person so this made me smile. My brother has two nasty cats that he paid over a grand each for……. I send him tanned cat hide pics once in a while before bedtime, then call him in the morning and ask how he slept.

Those are cool pics. I had Big Bird (sandhill crane) strolling around my back yard yesterday. I also have coyotes and foxes back there and once had a coydog (dog/coyote mix) show up at night for a year or two.
I love this time of year.
