Cannon Lake-troll cable depth counter losing count…..

Was out last week and one of my downriggers was losing depth count. It seemed to count a ways and then stop counting. The pulley appeared to be rotating on the when the counter stopped. Was only using a 4 pound ball, not sure if that had anything to do with it. Haven’t taken it apart yet just wondering if anyone has ever run into that and maybe has a way to make it more reliable?

Tip your transducer up a click or two, you should be able to see the rigger ball on your graph. But then again 4# may have too much blow back depending on your speed and depth.

It’s not the transducer pickup but the depth counter on the downrigger that I’m having problems with. I have 2 downriggers one counter works fine the other one that’s giving me problems is intermittent. Thanks for responding mark…
