You have to have an ontario outdoors card . If you bought in 2012 you might of had one cannot buy license without. YOu can renew your outdoors card and purchase a license online now. I did so yesterday.

Everything can be done instantly online. If you don’t remember your outdoors card number, there is a system to look it up on the Ontario site.

The outdoors cards are good for 3 years, so you’ll need a new one. I ordered one one March 30th and got it in the mail this past Monday, so about 2 weeks.
Like others have said an online license/temporary outdoors card is instantaneous. The physical outdoors card can vary. My last outdoors card took several weeks to receive in the mail. In the mean time you can just keep the paper record.
