I’m beginning to look for a drive to Canadian Resort to take my father and brother to this coming summer. Looking for recommendations on a resort that has a nice variety of fishing options. I will take my 19 foot boat. Planning for 4 nights. Pretty flexible on dates.

    Where would you recommend?

Big lake, small lakes, how remote, where are you coming from and how far are you willing to drive?

Planning within a couple hours north of the border. Maybe Kenora area as my northern limit. Want to be able to make the drive in a day. Lake size doesn’t matter. Have a big enough boat to go on most waters.

If you want a drive in CAD option close to home, look up and read on the ol’ interweb about Lake Despair, Footprint Lake, Jackfish Lake – chain of lakes near Emo / Fort Francis.

If you want to push that northern boundary a bit further, Five Lakes Lodge on Gull Rock Lake is a fantastic resort. Great owners, great fishing for walleye/pike.
