    Anyone know??
Trying to plan a trip waterfowl hunting in late October in Saskatchewan with a buddy. He just got COVID in hospital recovering. I understand you cannot get the vaccine for awhile after being sick. Will him having and surviving COVID cover him getting across the border

    Thanks

I doubt that but maybe someone who has been or is going to Canada can confirm that for you. I think you also need a negative test within 72 hours of arrival.

Simply have him start the vaccination process now. My buddy had covid and then got the shot within a week. You can have covid and get vaccinated. He will not get over without vaccine regardless of having covid. Hope he gets better soon covid can ge nasty

Vaccine waiting period after having covid depends on the treatment he received. Have him ask his doctors how soon he can safely take the vaccine.

To enter Canada in late October he would need his first vax dose like NOW. 2nd dose needs to be done 14 days prior to crossing the border.

Thanks everyone for the info and thoughts. He is kind of in this situation refusing to get Vax. Looks like the ducks will have to wait he is talking like he is all good with the antibodies instead of the vax. His choice. Great hunting up there have seen duck tornadoes over swaths of barley lay in the row and they land on top of you.

Curious on opinions. Will unvaccinated American anglers ever be allowed to travel to and fish in Canada ever again?

    Not for the foreseeable future.

Why the waiting period for vaccination after covid ? What about all the asymptomatic people that got the vaccine, unbeknownst that they have or just had covid ? Science ?

Specifically speaking about going there to fish, that is why they also currently require a negative test for entry.

A positive test (within 180 days) is accepted as long as it was a “molecular” test – PCR or NAAT. I crossed with a month old positive test result and no recent negative test.

Wasn’t aware of that. Good to know.
