Our local fire dept. is getting our rescue boat set up for recovery and searching. We are getting a solix 15 CHIRP MSI GPS G2, and a Helix 7 CHIRP MSI GPS G3N. We are pretty sure this will work with the addition of a ethernet hub or switch, but we want to use one transducer for both. This will work correct?

Yes, you should be able to network them together and use one transducer. You shouldn’t need the networking hub if you are only connecting the two units to each other, with no other units or accessories. You will need 1 network cable adapter (Part# AS EC QDE) to connect the networking cable to the Helix. The networking cable’s standard end will screw right into the Ethernet port on the Solix, no adapter needed.

A Solix cannot share a transducer with a Helix. Solix and Helix only share waypoints, nothing else.

I agree with Tim. Only waypoints can be shared between Helix and Solix…. No transducers

Thank you for your responses. I also got similar basic information from Humminbird. The waypoint and routes will share, but that is it. In our case that is basically what we are needing. The Helix unit will be used to grid searching and the Solix will be for the actual images. So hoping it all works as we planned.
