Can I turn a HB PC-10 power cable into a PC-11?

So instead of removing my current power cable (a pc10) that’s powering my old helix 7 unit, can I cut off the end and then cut off the end of my new PC-11 cable and splice it on to the old cable that’s running to the back of the boat? This would be much easier than removing the entire old cable and then re running the new cable through the whole boat.

The main difference is that the PC-11 has the noise filter built in and that’s what I would be removing to put on to the old cable to power my new helix 8 MEGA SI+ G4N unit. I just don’t know if the wiring is different or not.

They both only have a red and black wire, so snip away.

One is 18 gauge and the other is 16 apparently. Will that matter?

Did you resolve this issue? I have a similar situation. I have a 597 CI HD with Down Imaging that came with the boat when I purchased it new in 2012. I need to replace the 597 due to recent GPS problems. I was gifted with a new HELIX 5 Chirp DI GPS G2. It has Down Imaging as well. It came with a PC11 power cord. I assume the power cord that came with the 597 is a PC10 since it does not have that small choke in the cable like the PC11. It would be so much easier for me to continue with the power cord that was part of the original install of the 597 with Down Imaging. I have seen some postings that imply you should not use the PC10 on units with Down Imaging yet my 597 was installed with this cord and has worked well for Down Imaging. Other postings say the PC10 and the PC11 can be used interchangeably. Would like to know how your issue worked out. Feedback from others welcomed as well.

Was not aware of this technology. I have another humminbird up front that uses the transponder built into my Minn Kota trolling motor. I see vertical interference lines in the display when I use the trolling motor. This may help that as well.
