If you could just sit around a campfire with a cold beer and talk to anybody for 2-3 hours who would you choose. Lets not consider relatives who have passed away. We all would like another chance to talk to them folks.

    1) Famous inventor / businessman. Somebody like Gates, Henry Ford, Edison ect.

    2) Famous politician. President, Lincoln, Washington ect.

    3) World famous person. Elvis, Mandela, famous actor, Winston Churchill.

For myself I would love to talk to somebody who started a world famous company and built it from the ground up. Where they got their money, how they hired, how they expanded ect.

Oh well, just a way to pass a rainy day. wink

Nikola Tesla – one of the smartest most under appreciated inventors of all time and ignored because he was a terrible businessman. Edison wouldn’t be the household name it is without Tesla.

Cleopatra. Would have to do a little more reading to get the context of her conversation but her story is nuts. Antiquity is cool stuff.

Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison to get their first hand take on the constitution and their thoughts about it as a “living document”, with examples from today.

I like to sit quietly at the campfire and stare aimlessly at the flames while sipping a cocktail, but I would like to pick Bill Winke’s brain.

I know this is the fishing side, but he’s a pretty good fisherman too hah

A lot scenarios I think of aren’t necessarily specific to the person but more the era, where lots of people from that timeframe would be great to listen to for their perspective.

George Washington and other revolutionists, because I can’t imagine what it would be like sitting around and finally crossing that line into a situation where the group declares “we’re going to have to go to war to do it, but let’s give this revolution a shot because if we win, we secure our own free country.”

Jesus would be great but also his apostles to hear their reactions.

Kind of hurts to say this because it’s still very fresh, but it’d be nice to speak with some of the brave men and women we’ve lost in the current overseas wars to just find out what was going through their minds when they were engaged in combat and ultimately gave their lives.

Count me in if the Ernest Hemingway camp fire is at his estate in Cuba.
I’d also like to know if he really was the “Big Fat Slob” of Bimini that the Caribbean fold singer Nathaniel Saunders sang about being “punched in the knob” over a girl. toast

Lots of good ones! I’ve always thought Eisenhower pre-Operation Overlord would be an interesting conversation.

I can’t fathom taking responsibility for an operation of that magnitude with such high stakes.
