Got into em pretty good this morning with my Pa ,i had ten fish boated before he finally decided to go with the same setup as me , biggest and the first fish was 23′ still swimming . Walleye stopped biting by 9am all sauger perch and sheep head after that , dad caught a nice cat too he was close to ten pounds i bet , got off the water by 12 both had a great time and wondered why we don’t go there more often .always fun getting dad out and out fishing all these guys in fancy 25k plus boats , one thing I didn’t like was after pulling in a fish a few boats would swarm the area and cast right into my stern , aside from that great morning walleye fishing , most guys were pulling cranks we using crawlers and fatheads off the bottom 12-25ft of water

Sounds like a good time. Regarding boats close my old man has a shirt that says: if you can read this you’re fishing too close. Grandpa (who should’ve been cast on grumpy old men) would let out a very loud: pretty damn close usually solved problem for him.

Yeah he had some choice words for em but hey that’s fishing , down there ur covering so much water its hard to sit on top of them seems like the fish are scattered rite now , when i was growing up we would get out and just anchor up all the time , we had a good laugh today about how far we’ve come since them days

Maybe you were on the wingdam? Lots of guys cast onto the one out there if I remember right. With all this heat, it will likely be a morning bite from here on out until all the boat traffic goes into hibernation. Thanks for the report

The big sunfish should be very close to working the wingdams now. When it gets hot outside, they [sunfish] like to sit on the wingdams and chew on chunks of crawler or small worms under a float.
