    Also known as the Puffball mushroom. Showed a picture of volleyball sized one in newspaper. I have one about the size of softball growing near my LP tank. Guessing someone out there has eaten these. Can you give me a how to.

    IMHO, the worst tasting of all.
    Make sure its not over ripe.
    Just dont go into it expecting anything like button mushrooms.
    As always, I’m sure some would disagree…

    I think it’s getting a little late in the year for Puffballs. They’re there, but aren’t they going into spore spreading mode about this time? I’ve eaten them earlier in the summer, and they’re like the tofu of the woods. Didn’t have a lot of taste, will take on the flavor of whatever you’re cooking with them
