Three of us fished Calamus on June 7 & 8 and caught well over 250 fish. 80+ walleyes on a jig in a minnow in the trees right across Valley View boat ramp and the edges of the channel to the east. However all of them but 2 were shorts and the legal fish were only 15 & 17 inches. We also got into white bass on the 7th and honestly caught over 125 in 2 1/2 hours. We probably averaged 3 fish for every 5 casts. One guy did land one nice wiper. The other guy was fishing off the rocks near the Valley View boat ramp and hooked a big muskie. It got off, but you could tell it was a muskie.
We had a ton of fun, but it would have been better if we found some keepers.
