Cabela's Re-Arm Kit (PFD)??

Last fall my wife’s life jacket indicator turned RED on it’s own (it was never deployed).

I manually deployed it and all was good, but I found out why it was red. There’s a plastic tab on top of the cylinder that breaks when it is deployed to change the indicator. Her’s must have been stepped on or leaned on which broke the tab, but the jacket was still fully functioning and the bobbin wasn’t dissolved.

Anyways, I’m finding a little conflicting information on the Re-Arm Kit.

    I believe her’s is a 3500 Tournament (I could be wrong though).

Inside it says model T1F and 1F automatic inflator.

When I try to find the kit it comes up as V86000???? Is that a 1F???

The V86000 should say what it can be used with in the description. It helps to start off with the gram weight matching the 33 grams to what your old one was.

    Used On: Mustang Survival (Models MC1900, MD0200, MD2087, MD3038, MD3053, MD3054, MD3083, MD3084)
    Used On: Sospenders (Models 1245, 1247, 1469, 1470, 1473, 33MSPT)
    Used On: Revere, Guardian, Blue Storm / Cabelas (Models 61019, 61021, 61225, 94-3059, 94-3064)
    Used On: Helly Hansen (Models HI400, HI4000, HI450, HI4500,NIV400, NIV4000, NIV450, NIV4500)
Used On: Body Glove, Eastern Aero Marine, Blue Storm (Models: I-008A, P01080-303, P01080-403, P1F, S1F)

^^^^^And this one came up in a different search

It says it has V86140 and a V80040 in it.

I think it’s the one, but no where on it does it say 1F??

    Beyond retarded……

Assuming it’s a 33 gram then it’s either a bayonet type (this is what my Cabela’s guardian tournament vests are) or the threaded cylinder (my dad’s Cabela’s ?? vest have these). Easy confirmation by looking at the current deployed one, if it’s got a black plastic bottom it’s the bayonet type, just threaded metal end is the other.

It’s the bayonet style with the black plastic.

Is there only one style of that?

Well, after a 12 minute talk with a Cabela’s rep, “she thinks” it should be a 943064.

    Why they can’t tell me if it’s a 1F for a model T1F is beyond me…..

interesting. i have the same life jacket and was just looking to get a replacement cartridge. checked mine yesterday and mine was also red although its never been deployed. I will try to buy the 943064 model and see if it works. $25 sure seems like a lot….

Yes all the numbers can be confusing.
    (A) the V86140 refers to the CO2 cartridge ONLY
    (B) the V80040 refers to the bobbin (dissolving pill) ONLY
    (C) Cabela’s Kit number IK-943064 includes the two items (V86140 & V80040) this is indeed the correct kit for the vest you listed in your original post.

Yes, the plastic ring gets brittle over time. Another reason for these vests to be serviced on a regular schedule. I too am guilty of neglect, I just checked my “spare” kit. It is already beyond expiration and I’m sure the components in the vest right now are older yet.

I’m buying two fresh kits, one as a “spare” and one to install immediately.

I will use the expired components to show my grandson first hand, just how the inflatable vests work and why it is important to wear one.

    Thanks HuntinDave for the confirmation.

I think it’s ridiculous that Cabela’s sells a PFD without any kind of identification of the model to verify what parts are needed…..

Especially parts that EXPIRE and NEED REPLACEMENT.

It’s like walking up to the auto parts counter and saying you need an oil filter.

They ask for what kind of car?

You reply, not sure, but it could be a Gremlin or a Rabbit, it doesn’t say…..Here’s a useless part number stamped on the door frame…

    Grrrr

Checked mine, it says 1F and has that same tag. The kit for mine was 943064.

I believe there is one other bayonet type 33g kits, but it’s for a manual vest, so no green tab and bobbin

There is a permanent instruction manual on all inflatables.
    It should say in there(?)

Re read the first post. Never mind. Tell Cabela’s you want a free one to test out what they are telling you…after all your life may depend on it.
