It’s that time of year again! Permits went live for the Boundary Waters this morning at 9 am. For those planning a trip this summer you can reserve your permit at http://www.recreation.gov
If you need any outfitting, you can always call us at (218) 365-3466 and if you have any questions, feel free to respond below or send me a message as well.

We normally take our 16′ boats with 25hp motors and wheel systems in to basswood via fall lake. Didn’t get drawn for the week we wanted, what would be a similar area to try for, as far as destination and navigable portages similar to Newtown and pipestone portage?

The other motor accessible lakes would include Snowbank Lake, Trout Lake, and Small Farm Lake on the Ely side. Trout lake is the only one with portages of these three. Moose and fall fill up completely via lottery.

Pulled our usual two permits; one out of Ely and one Gunflint. Guys, if you like to fish, you gotta give the b-dub a shot.
