Busy Smallmouth

Fished between Stillwater and the railroad bridge this morning. Smallmouth were very cooperative chasing smaller stickballs. This is the first year I have fished jerk baits for bass and man- I hooked. Just love how smallmouth crush the bait. I also like the more active approach you have to use to bet bit. Most fish were on rock/rubble near main river points.

Been a decent bass bite up river to. Still some good schools of whites hanging up there. Smallmouth just off main flow in slack water pockets.

Jerkbaits are $$. I need to get out on the croix for some smallies. It’s been awhile.
