Kooty,
I had owned the original Eliminator and had it on a Browning A-bolt 270. There has been some significant improvements since then, as they are now in 3rd generation. Prior, it had been just available in a 3×10. Now they also offer a 3×12 & 4×16.
In my original, the laser was great to about 700 yrds, then picking up the reflection was a little spotty. Now they are listed as 1200+ reflective with deer out to 750yrds. I’ve played a little with the 3 and had no problem picking up most targets at 800-900 yrds.
Programming is simple and only takes a couple of minutes. Obviously you need all your data handy so you can stroll through and enter. I wasn’t shooting much over 500yrds. Not that the scope wasn’t capable of delivering the correct elevation, I was just practicing for antelope and knew my 270’s range of 300 to 500yrds.
You need to be realistic in expectations. Like any rifle, rangefinder, ammunition loads,…. you need to practice and know your equipment. The eliminator is a hunting scope. Some guys expect to drill dimes at 700 yrds and that just isn’t the case. To drill good groups with the right matched equipment is realistic. The laser is accurate to 99.5% so needless to say, its a dang good rangefinder.
I like the button placements on the scope. Easy to access in relationship to the for-grip.
I pulled this off the rebate form “Only item numbers 200116
