(I’m still lookin to purchase a bullwhip so If anyone has one or knows of any deals then let me know)
I was wondering if I could use one for my trip to lotw. I know it might be a little light but has anyone used one with smaller spoons and jigs for walker. Just curios, thanks

I have caught many walleye on my bullwhip. Biggest was 27″. It will do fine. Last year I added a Fusion and I use that more now, but I will still use my BW.

With a good drag on your reel a bullwhip does well for walleyes in my opinion. The only thing I don’t like about it is if you use a heavier bait, that noodle tip can get pretty loaded down and it just isn’t as enjoyable to jig with. But I only fish walleyes a couple times a year so a bullwhip and a fusion are all I use for walleyes and they work great.

The Bullwhip can be used for walleye, but it is designed for panfish. It has all the backbone needed to land any fish you hook. The main drawback for walleye is the noodle tip will overload if you used larger walleye spoons. That doesn’t mean it won’t work, you just won’t have as much jigging control over your bait. If you are planning on using it for walleye once in a while, you’ll be just fine. If you are looking for a dedicated walleye rod, the Precision would be a more suitable choice. BTW, a lot of people really like to use the Bullwhip as a walleye deadstick rod. Just make sure you leave your bail open, have a bait feeder reel, or are watching closely.

I have used my Bullwhips as a dead sticks on past LOTW trips with no issues at all in landing fishing. Nothing over 20″ yet but that soft tip is such a great indicator.

ok, thanks for the input. I’m thinking of pairing it with an okuma ceymar c-10. any reccomendations on line i could use for both walleyes and smaller sunnies?

Like others have said if you are trying to run bigger walleye baits you are going to want something like the Fusion or Precision but you can get away with the Bullwhip for smaller presentations! Good luck! toast

I’d go Suffix Ice Magic mono. Probably 6-8#.

#8 line is going to fly off the tiny spool of a Ceymar 10 into a birds nest. I’d go #4-6, and lean towards #4 with a light drag if you’re walleye fishing with it.

The tip of a Bullwhip is way too light for walleye gear, even the light stuff like 1/16oz spoons. I use 1/32-1/64oz spoons on mine for panfish, and that even loads the tip up pretty well.

If you’re dead set on one rod for both presentations, the Quicktip is the best fit of that TUCR lineup. You can fish anywhere from 1/32oz panfish jigs to 1/8oz walleye spoons. It has an ultra-fast action just like the Bullwhip, but with a little more strength in the tip.
