Last year I cleaned out Fleet Farm twice for 20lbs spools of tip up line.

    Anyone buy this in bulk?

What do you use, vinyl or or the other coated stuff? I’ve never seen either in bulk, sorry, but I’m curious why you change it every year. I’ve used the same line for many years without problems.

PS- Congratulations, you make fine rods.

I prefer 80# braided line over the actual tipup line but thats just me.

I just use the braid line. I have about 20 tip ups. I maintain them all for my family I really like the dacron line. It is cheap last for a few years before stretch becomes an issue.

I just don’t like buying 50 yds at a time. I use flags from first ice late Feb. I love seeing the flag. Last year was really rough on the line being so cold.

This is the year I swap out 10 tipups.

here in new York were allowed 5 tip ups on ponds and 15 on bigger lakes like lake champlain. I will go out and buy the big spools of 50# ice braid and it usually last 2 seasons cause I mostly fish ponds. I have a few more then 5 incase I bring guests out. this past season I wasn’t that into tip ups mostly jigging and searching im always running and gunning when it comes to ice
