I’m looking at making one of these for my dad for a houseboat trip he takes each year. They slip bobber 6 lines off the back of the boat and he’s looking for a way to get out beyond the other lines. As its just a bobber rod it doesn’t make sense to spend a fortune and I’ve only really found one rod that I like, the St. Croix SCII 8’6″ Float-n-Fly. Does anyone have experience with this blank or others you’d recommend? What guide set will be best? It’s my first time building a rod like this so I’m a little lost.

I end up using a lot of 9′ Fly Rods in Rainshadow series for people.

Give me a shout I do sell rod building components now.

    Thank you.

Oh I would use like a 10 wgt. I also have a pile of 2nd blanks in right now that are cheaper too.
