Can anyone give an update on the mayfly hatch or any other bug hatches?

    Thanks,

They were on the lake cams at Mille Lacs this morning, so I can’t imagine Leech is too far behind.

Seemed to me like I saw a Leech Lake report on Angling Buzz from Jason Freed last night and they said it was in full swing and behind like every where else…

If it loads I found it…

They were absolutely horrible on Saturday. Mayflys, fish flys, nymphs, and another kind I was not familiar with. We had to wear head to toe coverings just to stand them during the day. Worse I’ve ever experienced on the water. The bite was hot and heavy during the day on white/gold spinners.

    Thanks for the information.

Exactly what I was hoping to avoid! I will have the family up on Leech July 6-13, hoping they are getting wrapped up by then.

We had a small mayfly hatch at work in la crosse wi June 11th. The worst I’ve seen was 4th of July 2015. Every year the hatch gets picked up by weather radar

The hatch is in full swing on the western half of the lake where I spent the last week

Can confirm. Last week, eaters were being found trolling 8-12′ mud/grass flats with small cranks or with downsized spinners with a bit of worm.
