Gets annoying buying an 18 dollar spool of line to get 1.3 spinning rods per spool .

Powerpro 20lb and up comes in 1500yd spools. It’s a little cheaper per yard and you don’t have wasted leftovers.

Just don’t get snagged so much. Lol

So looking for advice from the experts here but if you were looking to spool up a couple sturgeon winches with braid what would it be? Probably the most cheapest somewhat good 80-100 pound line would suffice.

    Try the beyond braid

I purchased Hercules brand braided line off Amazon based on the reviews. I have nothing negative to say about this brand. Other fishermen have told me their braided line fades which Hercules will as well.
    I’d buy the brand again.

I run almost all YoZuri blue braid from 10# to 65#. I have reels that are 5 or 6 year on the original fill. casts smooth and resists abrasion well.

I use 832 as well. I tried cheaper braids, and as stated the biggest problem with wear on components because it wasn’t as smooth, never had any issues with breakage.

I will say though, do not skimp on flouro, made that mistake once, and after loosing several quality Walleye it all went into the burn barrel.

I spooled my jig pitching rods this winter with Berkleys “new” Forward line. As much as a hated the name implication, I missed Nanofil. I honestly thought this was just a re-branding of Nano to capitalize on the FFS craze. This line is the real deal, whether you use FFS or not like me. If you truly like castability, you’ll like this line.

    It’s $30 for 300 yards.

I also spooled a real with Suffix Revolve line 400 yds for $27. I liked that there was a 200yard indicator strip between the line segments to let you know where half way was. Did not care for the line, and used it on 10 trips before I got the Berkley product..

I don’t know what’s considered cheap, but I just ran 12lbs fluoro leader material on 8lbs and 10lbs braid all of my trip to rainy. Both braid and leader were the beyond brand and I was pretty impressed. Not one break off, horsed in a couple sturgeon on my set up, lots of walleye. It’s definitely not spendy but I also wouldn’t say cheap, but we’ll worth the money.
Casts great, fishes great and feels pretty good. Can’t tell it was 832 and couldn’t tell my leader from my more spendy line set ups.
