Another one to add/update;
This year I made a change to how I support my electric auger. As I posted above, that setup works great if using only one size auger. If you change auger diameters it changes the center-line heigth so the drill does not sit properly in it’s cradle.
This year I want the option of using either a 6 inch K-drill or a 7 inch lazer auger bit.
I determined the center-line height of the drill was 8.5 inches and welded up a bracket to match. The yokes are cut from UHMW plastic. Due to the twin flighting on the K-drill the tips of one yoke need a radius to clear the flighting.
The auger shaft itself is supported and the drill is supported as well. I did not want the weight of the drill hanging off the chuck.
PS. Didn’t take a pic of the 7 inch laser auger but it sets in the cradle exactly the same.
