I have always used the old balsa handled Rapala Filet Knives for cleaning my catch. I have three of them that are all probably no less than 20 years old and they don’t hold an edge very long anymore. Been looking for a new knife to replace them. I see these Bubba Knives appear to be gaining popularity. What is the consensus on these knives? They appear to be more expensive than others are they worth the money?

I was going thru this about a year ago, time to replace the wood handle Rapala knives I had. I thought about going with a few different brands, some were up around $100. In the end, I ended up with getting new wood handle Rapala knives again just because that is what I was used to, they arent very expensive and I can get years of use out of them

I replaced mine with the Rapala Lithium ION cordless fillet knife. Works good for me.

Got tired of sharpening my regular knives after every two or three fish a couple of years back, and decided to give the Bubba knives a try. Looked all over for a deal, and after a month or so, finally found the best deal ordering direct from Bubba, as they had a special going on of about 20% off. Bought three sizes, as I salmon fish also. They really hold an edge, and have fantastic handles. Really like them.
