time for quick report before I go back over for the afternoon bite. fished from 6-11, caught 6 nice crappies 10-11″ on a glow genz work with spikes. also got several small gills. 2 crappies caught about 1′ from bottom others about 3′ up… fished in water from 19-23′ made it out as far as raymonds tree and had 5″ of ice it was closer to 9″ up on northern bay. all fish released. saw a frozen pile of about 10 eater size crappies just sitting next to a tree 
I see gills left on the ice all the time there but this was a first for crappie out the door to go back for more…afternoon was much the same. met a couple buddies and we got about 20 gills/crappies. genz worms were once again the ticket for the crappies. bite died for us around 5
