Brush hog

    I am looking at getting a brush hog for the atv. Anyone have any experience with these?

    How much do you have to do and how much grass cutting vs woody brush cutting?

    I know people who own both ATV and walk-behind. I’ve heard the ATV pull types are fine for grass and very small woody, but anything that’s not “green stem” bogs them down and kills them. If you look at the HP per inch of blade, then compare to a tractor pto driven unit, the ATV units are massively under powered. My tractor uses 65 HP to drive five feet of cutter by comparison to a 12 HP 4 foot pull behind.

    The people who own the walk behind have much better results in actually woody brush up to about an inch.

    Its not much woody stuff mainly weeds
